New Years Day

As promised I am back with a New Years day post full of photos of furry, and some not so furry, friends. I can safely say that I much prefer New Years day to New Years eve, when I used to go clubbing the new years hype never lived up to expectations, you spent a load of money on an expensive ticket, queued for half an hour every time you wanted a drink so sobered up pretty quickly, and then suffered all of new years day.
Now that I'm taking on the life of an old lady, I much prefer a good film and takeaway followed by a morning walk along the beach to celebrate the new year.

This year was particularly nice, Rich and I had already planned to take Lilly for a nice run, she loves the beach, and my family decided to come along too. My dad came with his partner, sister came with hers and my nephew, and my brother came with his girlfriend and her dogs, it was awesome. We talked, walked, got slobbered on, paddled, picked up poo, and really blew away the cobwebs. Apparently a lot of people had the same idea as the beach was packed!

So just for a change, here are a load of photos from our lovely walk. I think we needed it to make room for the scrummy roast that followed...

Christmas or 'Cathmas'

And so another Christmas is over. It always makes me a little bit sad that after months of planning and preparation, it's over in the blink of an eye. I even took down the decorations last night, the house looked so bare it was a little sad, but seeing as I'm back at work today it seemed like the right time to get it done.

So anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New year? Did Santa bring you lots of nice things?

I was pretty spoilt this year with presents. As my Dad and his partner had bought their first home together back in November, it was our first Christmas that wasn't in our family home. On Christmas morning I woke up at Rich's house for presents and cups of tea with him and his family, it was ace. One of my favourite moments was watching Lilly the dog opening her presents, the clever little monkey that she is, and of course the happy looks on people's faces as they open their presents.
Then it was on to my Dad's house for a day of food and family time. I was looking forward to Christmas but knew it would be strange as so much had changed over the last couple of months, it would also be the first time we'd properly meet Julie's children. Thankfully things went fairly smoothly, I was super proud of my family for trying so hard to make it a nice couple of days, even if it wasn't always appreciated by some people. But in true Ginn style, my family stuck together and supported each other to make it a lovely day. Boxing day was even better as my Sister, her partner and my nephew joined us for the festivities. Having a baby around makes everything so much easier, the constant entertainment is wonderful and he's just amazing anyway.

So here are a couple of photos from my Christmas...

Hope they didn't bore you to death too much.
